Amir Ziv is a drummer, composer, producer, and educator who has spent three decades at the center of New York's creative music scene.
He has performed at Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, and the Kennedy Center; recorded with Ornette Coleman, John Zorn, Lauryn Hill, Grace Jones, and Trey Anastasio; and led original ensembles that dissolve the boundaries between jazz, electronics, global percussion, and free improvisation.
As a teacher, he has shaped the careers of musicians now performing with Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, and Hamilton on Broadway.
