Amir Ziv is a performing artist, composer, drummer, producer, and educator based in New York. For over three decades, he has shaped contemporary music across acoustic and electronic contexts — orchestrating rhythm, melody, harmony, and texture into immersive performance systems.

Born in Tel Aviv and based in New York since 1992, Ziv has collaborated with Ornette Coleman, John Zorn, Lauryn Hill, Sean Lennon, Medeski Martin & Wood, and many others.

His work, defined as Harmonic Rhythm, bridges industrial artifacts and organic pulse — transforming sound into architecture.

“Combining jazz, electronic, free, and Brazilian styles, the intriguing New York avant-everything drummer proves there are always new worlds to conquer—in his playing, and in his clinics, classes, and drum-centric getaways. Only the fearless need apply.”
